Meth (also known as speed, ice or crystal meth) is a synthetic (man-made) drug produced in clandestine meth labs (drug labs) and are often set up in rental properties but can be found almost anywhere, in hotels, restaurants, sheds, garages, storage units, caravans, homes and even cars. Sadly, Australia has one of the highest rates of illicit meth use in the world.
Meth residue clings to surfaces and permeates into walls and soft furnishings. When people come in contact with these surfaces, meth can be ingested through their skin or by touching their mouth, nose or eyes which can have unpleasant side effects which may include itchy skin, breathing difficulty, sinus problems, headaches, nervousness, anxiety, irritability, paranoia or loss of concentration.
Meth labs are considered hazardous waste sites and should only be entered by appropriately trained meth lab remediation technicians. We will decontaminate and sanitise all of the hard surfaces and where an item cannot be sufficiently cleaned of chemical residues, it will be removed and safely disposed of.
Our certified technicians will test for meth levels in properties/vehicles and laboratory reports can be provided showing levels of contamination. Once a positive reading is obtained, an individually-tailored remediation plan will be compiled ahead of decontamination works being completed by our specialised cleaning team.
